Bunmi

Bunmi is an Angolan child who lives in a noble tribe prior to the Portuguese colonization. Her fate is to be a member of royalty, but she is a very tricky child and runs away from her etiquette training to play and explore nature. In her tribe there’s a strong tradition connected to insignias. The qualities of all the members of the community are paid with insignias, which are this culture’s most valuable object. As Bunmi is still a child, she hasn’t any and her biggest dream is to be awarded the courage insignia. Her community is invaded by colonizers who kidnap many people for the slave trade. Bunmi is one of these people.
